TerraForm is designed for quick and simple installation, making it easy for anyone to achieve professional results.
Before you get started, we recommend having the following tools on hand to make the installation process as simple and stress-free as possible.
- Rubber mallet
- Drill with 3mm drill bit
- Tek screws
- Shovel
- String line or garden hose
- Safety gloves and glasses
To help your installation run smoothly, the following tips explain how to correctly bend, secure, and connect the TerraForm edging components.
How to bend edges
Gently bend the TerraForm edging by hand along its length to create the required curve or angle. For tighter curves, work gradually with even pressure, and for broader curves, shape the length in small increments to keep the top lip smooth. Always shape the edging before fixing stakes or connectors for the best alignment.
How to use stakes

Install three stakes per 2440mm length for most standard applications. Position each stake behind the edging so it sits neatly under the rolled top lip, use a clamp if required to hold the pieces in place. Drill a 3 mm pilot hole just below soil level. Secure the stake using one tek screw.
How to use connectors
Edge to Edge
Place the two edging pieces flush together with the rolled lips aligned, then slide the connector behind them under the top lip. Use a clamp if required to hold the pieces in place. Drill one 3 mm pilot hole on each side of the join (one in each edging piece) just below soil level, and secure with tek screws.
Edge to Corner
The same connector is used to join a straight edging piece to a corner piece; simply align the lips between the edge and the corner, position the connector behind the join, and secure it in exactly the same way.
How to install
Step 1 – Mark out your line
Use a string line for straight sections or a garden hose to map out curves. This shows the exact path your edging will follow and helps you visualise the final layout.
Step 2 – Prepare the ground
Dig a shallow trench along the marked line. The trench should be wide enough for the edging and deep enough so that roughly one-third of the profile sits below ground for stability.
Step 3 – Position the edging
Place each length of edging into the trench, shaping it as needed. Join sections with connectors and secure stakes behind the edging as instructed, adjusting the height as you go to keep the top lip level and consistent.
Step 4 – Backfill and finish
Once everything is aligned, backfill the trench with soil, packing it firmly around the edging and covering all screws below soil level. Finish by checking the line is smooth and the edging sits clean and stable.
